THE AIKENS FAMILY Farewell to Our Friend On October 26th, 2019, we tragically lost a dear friend and colleague. Jonathan Friesen had been a longtime pilot for our air charter service Blue- water Aviation. Jonathan singlehandedly delivered thousands of flights of family, freight and guests to our lodge year after year. His stoic disposition and tireless resolve were critical in the expansion and success of Aikens Lake Wilderness Lodge. Our hearts are with the Friesen family and the entire team at Bluewater Aviation. Jonathan was an incredible man and will be immeasurably missed. They live together 16 weeks in a row. They share in the joys and successes of one another. The push to improve, build lifelong friendships and rise together. They muck it through the rains and smile through the dog days of summer. Their constant source of optimism is infectious. It does not go unnoticed. What shapes the emblematic trademark of the “Aikens Experience” is our formidable team. These keen bright-eyed young adults embody the stellar service that has become synonymous with our operation. It bears recognisance and repeating that we are blessed at Aikens Lake Wilderness Lodge with a group of peerless individuals that proffer selfless and wholehearted buy-in to this unique wilderness haven. On behalf on the ownership group, we’d like to formally express our sincere appreciation to all of our team, trades people, partners, volunteers and families. The value each of you provides cannot be measured; it is of the most vital importance. You are all linchpins, key players, cornerstones, mainstays. To our departing teammates whom are casting off on their next adventure, we bid you adieu, thank you and wish you all the best. To our returning cast mates, we eagerly await seeing you again. Let’s forge yet another monumental season together.
